Biography

Tammy Baldwin is committed to making sure that working people, not just big corporate special interests or the super wealthy, have a fighter on their side. With so much at stake, from families struggling with rising costs to a ban on reproductive freedom, Wisconsinites need someone who can fight and win. Tammy’s record of securing meaningful wins for working people is exactly why Wisconsinites across the political spectrum are backing her for reelection. In 2012, Tammy made history by becoming Wisconsin’s first woman and the first openly gay member elected to the US Senate. Since then, Tammy has worked across the aisle to take on the biggest fights and win, passing legislation to promote Made in America manufacturing, lower the price of essential prescription drugs like insulin, and expand health care for veterans. She is also the lead sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which guarantees equal access to abortion everywhere in the United States. Protecting the Democratic Senate majority could come down to Tammy’s race—and after spending $77 million in Wisconsin last year, Republicans are poised to throw everything they have into defeating her. Abortion rights, affordable health care, and so much more are on the line. That’s why she’s fighting as hard as ever, and why she needs our help.
