Royce Collins

Board Position: Co-Chair

Royce Collins is a visionary leader whose work sits at the intersection of Blackness, public policy, and community-centered innovation. As a PhD student in the School of History and Sociology at the Georgia Institute of Technology, his scholarship examines how technology, labor, and public policy shape inequality and how communities can build more just and inclusive futures. Guided by a commitment to ethical AI, equitable governance, and culturally grounded representation, Royce’s work reflects a deep belief that transformative policy must begin with those most impacted by structural injustice.

With more than a decade of experience in government relations, civic affairs, and corporate policy strategy, Royce has cultivated a reputation as a trusted convener and collaborator across the metro Atlanta region and beyond. His career has centered on forging meaningful relationships among elected officials, corporate partners, and grassroots organizations, consistently advancing solutions that bridge community needs with institutional power. Known for his clarity of purpose and ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable pathways, Royce has become a respected voice in advocacy networks committed to strengthening democracy and expanding representation.

A proud graduate of Hampton University and Clark Atlanta University, Royce’s early work includes launching #SHOPTALKATL, an innovative community engagement initiative designed to bring Black Atlantans and local policymakers together for dialogue in barbershops and beauty salons. Rooted in the belief that policy cannot be separated from lived experience, this project exemplifies his lifelong dedication to elevating voices too often excluded from decision-making spaces.

Whether advancing research on AI’s social impact, championing LGBTQ+ and Black political leadership, advising on corporate policy priorities, or cultivating relationships rooted in trust and community empowerment, Royce leads with integrity, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to expanding what is possible. His work across scholarship, advocacy, and organizational leadership reflects a bold and evolving vision: a future where power is shared, representation is real, and every community is equipped to shape its own destiny.
