Biography
Councilmember James Aguilar is a local educator, union organizer running for San Leandro City Council. He has spent his life in public service, fighting for social justice and equity, and finding solutions to the complex issues that face San Leandro. He was born in Berkeley, grew up in Oakland, and has lived in San Leandro for over thirteen years. He believes that it is time to move San Leandro forward, focusing on the city’s financial health, rebuilding the Council’s trust with the larger community, partnering with businesses and nonprofits in decision making, and supporting the city’s schools.
