Black LGBTQ+ Americans are severely underrepresented in public office.
In 2022, a group of LGBTQ+ Victory Fund supporters formed the Black Leaders Caucus to address this disparity by identifying, recruiting, endorsing and supporting Victory Fund’s Black LGBTQ+ candidates. The Caucus ensures Victory Fund is using its full range of resources to increase representation – like campaign trainings and support from the Victory Campaign Board – so that more Black candidates have the resources they need to win.

Accomplishments of the Black Leaders Caucus
Before the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund Black Leaders Caucus started in 2022, only 91 Black LGBTQ+ elected officials were serving in the U.S. – but as of 2024 that number is 146!
44 LGBTQ+ Victory Fund candidates who receive Black Leaders Caucus support are on the ballot in November 2024.
As of October 2024, the Black Leaders Caucus has raised over $100,000 for Black LGBTQ candidates since 2022!
