MONTANA – Continuing to show campaign strength, State Senator Bryce Bennett announced today his campaign has out-raised all 6 of his Republican opponents combined in the race for Secretary of State.
In just over a month, Bennett raised $16,297 from 288 individual contributions during a time when many campaigns are seeing lulls in their fundraising efforts. This fundraising haul lengthens his total fundraising lead over his two closest opponents, Deputy Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen (-$14,666.94) and State Senator Scott Sales (-$25,182.36).
Bennett continues to dominate with more money raised, more cash on hand, and substantially more individual grassroots contributions than any of his opponents.
“Big Sky Country is ready for new leadership with a positive vision for Montana’s future,” Bennett said. “Montanans from every corner of the state recognize our democracy and public lands are at stake and they’re investing in the only grassroots campaign that will fight to protect our Montana values.”

Bryce Bennett is a fifth generation Montanan and State Senator. During his tenure, Bennett led the fight to keep dark money out of Montana elections, passing the nation’s strongest campaign finance law. A longtime defender of public lands, Bryce will be a committed advocate for public access on the State Land Board. Bryce was awarded by the Montana Chamber of Commerce with the highest score of any candidate for Secretary of State during the 2019 legislative session.
The Montana Secretary of State’s Office is currently held by Republican Corey Stapleton and is listed as a top pickup by the Democratic Association of Secretary of States. In his first and second campaign fundraising report of 2020, Bennett out-raised all six of his Republican opponents – without taking a dime from corporate PACs.
