Alexis Hoffkling

Alexis is a family doctor, an educator, a proud union member, and a progressive democrat. As a science nerd and an extrovert, her calling to service led her to become a family doctor. Her practice includes caring for folks of all backgrounds and ages. Every day, whether she is providing primary care, delivering babies, or teaching tomorrow’s doctors, she is blessed to learn from her amazing patients, most of whom are uninsured or on Medicaid. As ‘Dr Alexis,’ she hears stories every day that illustrate the human stakes of public policy decisions. For every issue, from criminal justice to climate change, from education to organized labor, she can see the faces of her patients: individuals whose experiences demonstrate the consequences of lawmakers’ choices. After years of mastering the skills of being a caring doctor within the walls of the hospital, she is ready to be a champion in the halls of power. She will fight for universal healthcare, an economy that works for everyone, and freedom from the forces of oppression. She comes equipped with the skill she practices every day as a doctor: combining objective reality, reasoned analysis, and human values to make decisions to improve people’s lives.
