Amanda Gonzalez is running for Colorado Secretary of State to protect voting rights, strengthen our democracy, and ensure government works for everyone. Currently the elected Clerk and Recorder for Jefferson County, Colorado, she champions voter access, independent redistricting, and transparent, equitable government. A voting rights attorney and former Executive Director of Colorado Common Cause, Amanda has written and passed laws that expand ballot access and curb the influence of money in politics. She has also served as a staff attorney, small business CEO, and adjunct law professor. The first in her immediate family to graduate from college, Amanda has dedicated her career to making democracy more inclusive—including helping pass Colorado’s automatic voter registration law and increasing secure drop boxes statewide. As Clerk, she oversees elections, marriage licenses, and public records, and created programs like “Links of Love” and a Pride marriage seal to visibly support LGBTQ+ couples. If elected, she will be the first Latina and the first out LGBTQ+ person to serve as Colorado’s chief elections officer.
