Biography
As a trilingual (Spanish & Chinese), first-generation American born to a family of Mexican immigrants, Andrés Carrera has spent his career serving in leadership positions for elected officials at every level of government – including Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, and U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper – developing innovative strategies to engage and build consensus among the hardest-toreach constituencies out of a deep and abiding belief that every single community member deserves a seat at the decision-making table. Prior to beginning his career in public service, Andrés taught English as a Second Language in Beijing, China for four years. He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in international relations and was a participant in the Honors Program.
