Biography
A graduate of the Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs, Andrew Reding has served as a senior fellow of the World Policy Institute and as a human rights expert for the US federal government. Also first out LGBTQ+ elected official in Southwest Florida in the 1990s. Was elected the first LGBTQ+ Chair of Whatcom Democrats in 2019, serving three terms, during which we flipped the county executive, sheriff, all three 42nd LD state legislative seats, and more, from Republican to Democratic. Elected to the Whatcom County Charter Review Commission last year, Andrew is now running to fix Bellingham’s housing shortage. We presently have the 13th most unaffordable housing of any small city nationwide.
