Biography
Anthony Azaria, a lifelong Marion resident and a 2018 graduate of Marion Harding High School, is a fresh face ready to infuse Marion’s City Council with new energy and innovative ideas. Currently employed as an educator and direct support provider for individuals with developmental disabilities, Anthony resides in the 6th ward with his dog Cooper. Since losing his great-grandmother to Alzheimer’s in 2018, Anthony has been an integral part of the Marion Walk to End Alzheimer’s. He recently joined the planning committee, actively raising awareness and support for affected families. Additionally, Anthony champions LGBTQ+ rights in Marion, serving as the Pride Club advisor at Harding High School and establishing a district-wide resource network for LGBTQ+ staff and their allies. Dedicated to fostering transparency and accountability in local government, Anthony believes in open communication and ensuring that every resident of Marion, regardless of their ward, feels heard and represented. His experience as an educator has honed his skills 6 in listening, collaboration, and effective leadership. With a focus on progress and unity, Anthony is poised to serve as a voice for the community, bringing fresh perspectives and a vision for a stronger, more connected Marion.
