Biography
The Honorable Beau Miller is the Presiding Judge of the 190th Judicial District Court, Harris County. While on the bench, he has received the 2024 Trial Judge of the Year Award by the Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists, the 2023 Victory Fund’s Annise Parker Leadership Award, and the 2021 Houston LGBT+ Political Caucus Barnish Award.
Before election to the bench in 2018, Judge Miller was in private practice representing a wide range of clients. From 2001 through 2004, Judge Miller was a law clerk to the Honorable Ricardo H. Hinojosa, United States District Court.
Judge Miller received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and serves as the Permanent Class President of the Class of 2001. In July 2024, Judge Miller was awarded a certificate of completion for the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program, John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education.
Prior to his legal career, Judge Miller was the Associate Director of Bands at Stephen F. Austin High School, Austin, Texas. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree where he served as the Drum Major of the “Golden Band from Tigerland.”
