Biography

Bentley Hudgins is a human rights leader and voting rights expert who has spent the last decade organizing to build real progressive power. They are also union member with the NewsGuild-CWA Local 32035. They are running to: – Provide Real Relief for Working Families  – Stop Donald Trump and the GOP’s attacks on our neighbors – Protect the Right to Vote Over the last decade, they have been on the frontlines of democracy, protecting our neighbors’ rights and meeting their needs in real time. Whether it’s leading efforts to register hundreds of thousands of voters, penning the demand letter to install ballot drop boxes statewide during the pandemic, helping over 20,000 Georgians access COVID vaccines, or securing $300,000 to curb gun violence and redevelop their neighborhood park, they have been the leaders on the frontlines that we’ve been proud to work with. If elected, Bentley would bring many firsts: – the first trans person elected to the Georgia State Legislature – the first openly LGBTQ+ person to represent the most queer district per capita in the state – the first Japanese American elected to the State Legislature.
