Biography
Peter Brehm grew up outside Philadelphia before attending the University of Virginia and then moving to Washington, D.C., before relocating to Frederick, MD. He has been with his husband for 20 years. After his career in the printing and publishing industry, he worked for Hood College in the IT department, managing purchasing, the budget, and the IT Help Desk. As a dedicated Frederick community advocate, he has deep connections with the City and understands Frederick’s values, accomplishments, and challenges. He is known for following up and following through on commitments in a collaborative manner. His activities have included serving as a former Neighborhood Advisory Council 9 Coordinator, member of African American Resources Cultural Heritage (AARCH) Society, Treasurer, Student Homelessness Initiative Project (SHIP), and Treasurer and founding board member for The Frederick Center, Frederick’s LGBTQ+ resource and advocacy organization. He has spent years behind the scenes helping to advance Frederick’s non-profits and assisting with local government, where called, and he is now running to take his efforts as an activist and an advocate to the next level.
