Biography
As an educator, LGBTQ+ youth crisis counselor, and executive at the Downtown San Diego Partnership, Josh Coyne has dedicated his career to serving others and solving problems that impact real people. At the Partnership, he oversees more than 40 employees and leads efforts to tackle homelessness, drive economic growth, and strengthen public safety across San Diego. As a counselor with The Trevor Project, Josh has led suicide prevention and crisis intervention programs to support LGBTQ+ youth in moments of need. As a board member for San Diego LGBT Pride and the Alliance for Trans Youth Rights, he has championed policies that protect and empower young people and their families. Josh has spent years on the front lines working to improve quality of life and build a finer city — and he’s ready to bring that experience and commitment to the City Council to keep making progress for San Diego.
