Davis will be the youngest out LGBTQ+ Justice of the Peace in Harris County history!
Biography
Davis Mendoza Darusman (he/him) is a community organizer, nonprofit leader, and small business owner running for Justice of the Peace in Harris County Precinct 5. He has spent his career helping Houstonians navigate complex systems at moments when life is already difficult – connecting residents with resources, managing public-facing programs, and helping nonprofit organizations secure over $1 million in grant funding to serve marginalized communities. A proud member of Houston’s LGBTQ+ community, Davis has led community listening sessions, organized advocacy efforts, and served in leadership roles, including Co-President of the University of Houston LGBTQ Alumni Network and Founding Co-Chair of QUEENs of Houston. He is running to modernize a court that too often adds confusion and hardship instead of clarity and fairness. Davis believes the Justice of the Peace court should be accessible, transparent, and rooted in dignity, ensuring that all residents understand their rights and are treated with respect under the law.
