Deb is one of only three LGBTQ members of the North Carolina State House
Since her appointment in February of 2017, Deb has been in the trenches fighting for Equality. The debacle that was HB2 thrust her into a very bright spotlight as an openly gay member of House, but she never shied away from speaking candidly and with passion about the rights of LGBTQ citizens. Deb is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and has served her community on the boards of The Historic Wilmington Foundation, the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance, and EqualityNC, as well as been a volunteer at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She and her spouse Anni make their home in Wilmington’s historic district.
Importance of Candidacy:
- Deb will be a voice for equality in the North Carolina State House.
- She is one of only three LGBTQ members of the North Carolina State House.
