Biography
Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford is a small business owner, food service worker, and former union member who isn’t afraid of a fight. She made history in 2023 as the first transgender woman elected to the Madison Common Council, representing the neighborhoods of District 15 on the Isthmus and East Side. Dina Nina knows firsthand the struggles of poverty, but also the power of community in times of crisis. She’s running for the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2026 to deliver real results for working families and advance a bold, progressive agenda that values people over profits.
