Dwayne will be a critical LGBTQ+ voice as Delaware Attorney General!
Biography
Dwayne Bensing is a career civil rights attorney and former educator running to be Delaware’s next Attorney General. A product of the “Unluckiest Generation,” Bensing’s commitment to justice is rooted in a childhood defined by economic hardship, including the loss of his family home to bankruptcy. These early experiences fueled a life of service, beginning as a middle-school teacher with Teach for America before he earned his degree from Penn Law.
Bensing’s legal career spans the U.S. Department of Justice under President Obama and a role as a whistleblower against the Trump administration’s Department of Education. Most recently, at the ACLU of Delaware, he has successfully sued the state to secure school funding and protect fundamental liberties. As an independent champion for the people, Bensing is dedicated to holding corporations accountable, ensuring transparent government oversight, and protecting the civil rights of all Delawareans against the political status quo.
