Jose Gamero-Georgeson

José Gamero-Georgeson is running for the David Douglas School Board because devoted to ensuring that the best possible public education is accessible to all the students in the district and beyond. He wants to continue the work he has already been doing on the school board for the past year and expand his work to all of Oregon, after recently being elected to the Oregon School Boards Association. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and now a dad, after adopting a little one with his husband, he knows how important safety is to all students. Students need to feel safe to be themselves, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation. As a Latino immigrant himself, he knows that the fear of ICE being in schools does not foster a great learning environment in any school district, let alone one that is 70% students of color, a majority Latine. He will stand up and protect our students, no matter what the federal government tries to do to make them feel less safe.
