Biography
Trustee Ileana Garza-Rojas is passionately committed to our children’s education. She has long been involved in the community, and public education, through service with a range of organizations. Ileana is a proud graduate of Garland High School. She went on to community college at Dallas College before attending and graduating from Texas Woman’s University. Prior to being elected to serve as a Trustee, Ileana served on the Equity and Equality Task Force Committee in Carrollton-Farmers Branch and was the co-chair of the Student Health Advisory Committee. She also served on her children’s school PTA having held movie night chair, Vice President of Programs, chair of the Hospitality Committee and the Carnival and Auction Team. Previously, Ileana was a Dallas CASA advocate for over ten years working with children in the foster system. Ileana’s professional career is in the legal industry with 20 years experience. Her strong work ethic allowed her to advance rapidly in the field, and in 2018, Ileana launched her own freelance paralegal business, specializing in insurance defense and personal injury. Ileana is a proud parent. She and her wife, Roxana, encourage their children to explore and learn inside and outside a traditional classroom setting. During Ileana’s time on the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school board, she successfully advocated for free breakfast for all students and helped establish support groups within the district, such as the Faith-Based Leaders and District Student Leadership, to further support our schools and community. In Ileana’s role on the school board, she has served on the Legislative Committee, Finance Committee and CarrolltonFarmers Branch ISD Educational Foundation. Through the Legislative Committee, she has had the opportunity to advocate for our children in Austin. This legislative session, she worked in partnership with public education advocacy groups to raise awareness of public school funding within our district.
