Biography
Councilmember Grant is a committed, experienced leader. Grant recognized the need for community education and organized Norman’s first Affordable Housing Town Hall in 2022. Since then, Grant has voted “YES” to approve “Crimson Flats,” which sees 75 units of Affordable Housing added to Norman’s limited stock. In 2025, Grant voted “YES” to purchase land for a Permanent Supportive Housing development and “YES” on land to place a Permanent Homeless Shelter. Grant’s two terms on Council taught them decades of exclusionary policies take time to unlearn and revise when adopting informed, holistic strategies that will build up Norman’s inclusive community. Grant now Chairs the Oversight Committee and serves as Norman’s Alternate at the Oklahoma Municipal League. Councilmember Grant has a vision for Norman’s future that includes: the creation of a Stormwater Utility fee, supporting the development of the 2025 Griffin Master Plan, and implementing a TIF District Master Plan that solidifies community input, best practices, and fiscal accountability. If re-elected, they will continue to champion justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through policy choices and when seeking diverse, qualified candidates for the City of Norman Boards and Commissions.
