Biography
Brandon Huckaby is a community banker, nonprofit leader, and East Tennessee native running to represent Knox County’s 3rd District on the County Commission. Raised in a working-class Appalachian family by LGBTQ parents who spent their careers in restaurant management, Brandon grew up with a deep appreciation for service, resilience, and looking out for the people around you. Over the years, Brandon has built a career focused on supporting working families, first-time homebuyers, and small businesses. His work in banking, housing advocacy, and community engagement has given him firsthand insight into the challenges facing Knox County — from affordability and infrastructure to neighborhood safety and growth planning. In addition to his professional experience, Brandon has served in multiple local leadership roles, helping strengthen community programs, expand access to resources, and support youth and families across Knoxville. Brandon believes Knox County deserves practical, people-focused leadership that listens to residents and puts real issues ahead of political distractions. His campaign is centered on responsible growth, attainable housing, strong neighborhoods, and a local government that reflects the community it serves. Brandon lives in Knoxville with his husband, Sky, and is committed to building a county where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
