Hunter will be a critical LGBTQ voice in the Minnesota House of Representatives
Biography
Hunter Cantrell is the experienced fighter that Burnsville needs right now, and he will fight alongside everyone in 55B to advance a better future for the working class. He first became involved in politics when he was 17, organizing neighbors to defeat the anti-marriage equality amendment in 2012. From that point forward, Hunter has been an unwavering champion for protecting the human rights of all LGBTQ+ people. He fought to expand access to gender affirming care and ban the harmful practice of LGBTQ+ conversion therapy while he was serving as the only openly gay person in the MN House in 2019. He’s a cancer survivor, soon-to-be physician, and a strong community advocate who can apply his experience on day one to advance concrete solutions to the challenges Minnesotans face.
