Help Maintain a Pro-LGBTQ Majority on the School Board with Hunter Miller!
Biography
Hunter Miller was raised in Fort Pierce, Florida. He originally pursued a career in healthcare, working for a
few years as a pharmacy technician. But he felt a different calling. Faced with a choice between a high-
paying career in pharmacy or his dream of teaching, he chose to follow his dream of teaching.
Since moving to Alachua County nearly a decade ago, Hunter has dedicated himself to the students of
Howard W. Bishop Middle School where he sees both the incredible potential of our youth and the
systemic failures that hold them back. He sees the “hopelessness” in students who struggle with food
insecurity and homelessness. He feels the frustration of teachers who are burnt out by poor
communication and lack of support from the district. In recognition of his dedication, he was voted 2025
Teacher of the Year at his school by his peers.
Hunter knows the challenges our district is facing and he feels the struggle many parents are facing today.
He knows what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. When DeSantis appointed another politician who
doesn’t represent Alachua County’s values, he knew he couldn’t stay on the sidelines.
