Jason Hoskins

Southfield City Council, At-Large

Winner!

Jason will be one of the first two openly LGBTQ Southfield City Councilmembers

Biography

Jason has spent the better part of his professional career in public service – working for the residents of Southfield as a legislative staffer for two Southfield state legislators. In that capacity, he helped craft legislation that reduced commercial blight, promoted neighborhood investment, protected Southfield’s environment, and fought for an open and transparent government. Now he’s ready to work for Southfield on the City Council.

Jason graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his Master’s in Public Administration, with a concentration in local government management. He later received his law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Jason has continued to be engaged in the community. He is an elected precinct delegate, member of the Southfield/Lathrup Democratic Club, Wolverine Bar Association, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Task Force.
