Jayden would be the youngest LGBTQ+ elected official in Nebraska history!
Biography
Jayden Speed is a 5th-generation Nebraskan with deep roots in his community, and he is running to represent District 2 in the Nebraska Legislature. Jayden grew up poor in rural Nebraska, attended Head Start as a child, and relied on Medicaid for his health insurance. He has been shaped by his lived experiences, and it drives him to fight for all Nebraska families to be able to achieve the Good Life. Jayden has been organizing and advocating in his community since he was 13-years-old. When a school board member tried to ban books in Plattsmouth Community Schools, Jayden stood with students, parents, and community members to defend public education from political attacks. He has over seven years of legislative experience working for Nebraskans. Jayden is running for Legislature because he firmly believes in addressing real issues that affect all Nebraskans, including substantive property tax relief, strong public schools, and an economy that works for working people, farmers, and rural communities.
