Jennifer Cornell

Ann Arbor City Council, Ward 5

Jennifer will continue to be an important voice for equality on the Ann Arbor City Council!

Biography

Jenn is a non-profit arts leader who has been part of the Ann Arbor community for more than 20 years. Previously, she co-founded one of the first all-female-owned CrossFit/ kettlebell/Olympic weightlifting facilities in the U.S., creating an inclusive and supportive community. Jenn also owned a PR and marketing firm for 10+ years before leaving entrepreneurship behind (for now) after the birth of her second child. Jenn’s current community commitments reflect some of the issues most important to her: Ecology Center, committed to a healthy planet; Family Learning Institute, which provides critical literacy support to the most underserved children in our community; Main Street Area Association, whose work helps small business owners in the city thrive; and Destination Ann Arbor, which attracts visitors to our region.

Jenn’s priorities for re-election:

• Ensuring Ann Arbor remains a welcoming community committed to diversity and inclusion.

• Encouraging housing options to accommodate residents across a broad range of lifestyles and interests.

• Supporting a comprehensive transportation plan that embraces walkability and biking, ride sharing, public transportation, as well as infrastructure improvements on our city roads.

• Building on Ann Arbor’s reputation as a premier destination for business.
