Biography

Jocelyn “Joz” Sida is a nationally recognized community organizer and proud daughter of immigrants, running to become the next Mayor of Fontana — the city she has called home since she was 14. Born in El Monte and raised in Fontana, Joz has dedicated her life to fighting for equity, justice, and opportunity. Her journey spans from organizing in local neighborhoods to leading national campaigns, but her heart remains in Fontana, where she’s committed to delivering people-centered leadership. With over 15 years of experience, Joz has built powerful coalitions and led grassroots movements across the country. She was the first Chapter Director of the Sierra Club San Gorgonio, advancing environmental justice and climate action across San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. As National Field Director at both Progressive Turnout Project and Corazón Latino, she mobilized voters and championed public health, environmental protection, and Latino community empowerment. She also served as Nevada State Director of Mi Familia Vota, driving civic engagement and immigration justice, and as a National Campaigner with MoveOn.org, advancing bold, progressive change. From campaign headquarters to community town halls, Joz brings people together to solve problems, speak truth to power, and build a better future for Fontana.
