Biography
Kim Coco Iwamoto is a civil rights attorney and public servant from Hawaiʻi who has dedicated her career to advancing equality, government accountability, and access to justice. She previously served on the Hawaiʻi Board of Education and has been a leading advocate for public education, LGBTQ+ rights, and transparency in government. As one of the first openly transgender elected officials in the United States, she has worked to expand representation and protect the rights of marginalized communities.
