Kyrstin Schuette

Kyrstin Schuette is an organizer, nonprofit leader, and proud community member running to represent House District 43A in the Minnesota State House. For more than 15 years, Kyrstin has built coalitions, advanced LGBTQ+ equality, and strengthened public education. She has worked on issue campaigns and for pro-equality candidates at every level, including leaders like Angie Craig and Pete Buttigieg. She helped defeat Minnesota’s 2012 anti-marriage amendment and supported the passage of marriage equality and the Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act. Kyrstin is the founder and executive director of the School Board Integrity Project, where she works to support leaders who practice good governance, defend academic freedom, and protect inclusive public schools. Her commitment to public service is deeply personal. As a student in the Anoka-Hennepin School District, she became a plaintiff in a federal lawsuit challenging harmful anti-LGBTQ policies. That experience shaped her understanding of leadership and accountability. Kyrstin is running because families are feeling real pressure and too many people feel unheard. She believes Minnesota must step up for our neighbors where the federal government fails and lead with real life experience, real values, and real courage.
