Mandi Remington is a mother, advocate, and community leader running for Johnson County Supervisor. She has worked at the University of Iowa (UI) for 18 years, where she serves as the Vice-Chair of the UI Council on the Status of Women, Co-Chair of the Center for Disabilities and Development DEI committee, and a UI Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Trainer. Mandi is also involved in municipal government as a member of the Iowa City Community Police Review Board and a City of Iowa City Climate Ambassador. Remington founded the Corridor Community Action Network, a regional organization committed to improving the overall quality of life for all residents of the Iowa Corridor, 5 years ago. In her role as the nonprofit’s Director, she bridges the gap between residents and local organizations and government, organizing community events and initiatives and amplifying opportunities for engagement. With a background in grassroots activism, Remington is a member of the Johnson County Affordable Housing Coalition, Iowa Unity Coalition, and Iowa Hunger Coalition, and a fierce advocate for bodily autonomy, equity, and accessibility.
