Mandi will be an important voice for equality on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors!
Biography
Mandi Remington is a County Supervisor in Johnson County, Iowa, and a long-time community organizer. As an only parent who knows what it means to struggle, Mandi brings compassion and lived experience to public office. In the face of some of the most extreme anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the country, Mandi has been a consistent and visible leader: organizing, protesting, testifying at the Capitol, and building community power. Mandi engages regularly with constituents through weekly chats, local events, and advocacy efforts; organizes Southeast Iowa Trans Day of Visibility; serves on the Local Progress Pride Caucus leadership committee; and amplifies the work of organizations such as One Iowa, Lavender Legal, the LGBTQ+ Archives, and Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund. Mandi is running for reelection to continue fighting for dignity, safety, and equity in a state where courage and solidarity are now more necessary than ever.
