Biography

Marvin Lim is the current State Representative for House District 98, which includes portions of unincorporated Norcross, Tucker, and Lilburn in Gwinnett County; a securities attorney with Holcomb + Ward, LLP (and formerly a civil rights attorney, with organizations including the ACLU of GA and the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence); and a CEO/Founder of the Lucky Shoals Community Association, which has focused on healthcare, housing, clean energy, and other local initiatives. I immigrated to Georgia from the Philippines at the age of seven, and earned my Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and my Juris Doctor at Yale Law School.

Among the experiences that show I am one of the most effective House members, I: 1) actually passed a law as a member of the minority party, the first time a State Rep from this district/area passed one since 2004 (law was HB 43, regarding state-recognized Native American tribes – a historically marginalized group); 2) garnered over $22 million for my district; 3) constantly do outreach, averaging over 1 event in-district per month since January 2021.
