Maureen AuCoin

Maine House of Representatives, District 55

Mo will be an important voice for equality in the Maine legislature!

Biography

Maureen (Mo) AuCoin has spent the past decade ensuring safe housing for people across Maine while also serving on the Hallowell City Council. As a City Councilor she has served on multiple committees to improve housing, support economic development, advocate for equity in hiring practices, preserve the city’s outdoor and historic spaces and oversee the city’s financial responsibility to tax payers. As a City Councilor and a founding member of the city’s LGBTQ+ Pride organization, she advocated for many measures to better her community and increase the visibility of Hallowell as a safe and welcoming community for everyone. She believes strongly that Maine should uphold its State motto and be The Way Life Should Be- with equal rights for LGBTQ people; access to reproductive and gender affirming care; funding to support our most vulnerable citizens; universal healthcare and clean farmland and water for generations to come. Mo claims to live in “the best” neighborhood in Maine with her wife, Alex, and their two pups, Rory and Percy.
