Biography
Mike McGuinness has already made history in Pontiac as the first out LGBTQ+ elected official in the community when he was elected to the School Board, and now as the current City Council President. As an elected leader, he delivered big wins for Pontiac with stabilizing finances, economic development wins, and new affordable housing. He’s got a strong community track record working for former Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, leading the Historical Society, and chairing the Arts Commission. His positive vision for Pontiac is focused on delivering results for residents, tackling our city’s problems, expanding housing options, and revitalizing our neighborhoods and historic downtown.
