Melanie is running in one of the closest districts in the Nevada State Senate this year
Melanie Scheible grew up in Nevada and is a graduate of Reno High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University with honors. Upon graduation from Stanford, Melanie attended Columbia Law School, where she received her juris doctor, as a Public Interest Fellow. Melanie returned to Nevada to pursue a career in public service and began her work at Clark County DA’s office in 2016. She was promoted from an Appeals Unit Law Clerk to a Deputy District Attorney in 2017.
During law school, Melanie worked with Federal Administrative Law judges as a mediator in employment discrimination cases. Before beginning her career at the prosecutor’s office, Melanie spent a summer doing pro-bono legal work in Uganda. She is active in the Las Vegas community. She volunteers locally to provide food to those in need and has previously served on the Steering Committee in Southern Nevada for the Human Rights Campaign.
