Biography

“Hello! My name is Michael Angeloni, and I’m running to represent Ward 5 on the Hyattsville City Council. Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, the DC area has been home since 2011, where I’ve built a career in advocacy and pursued a passion for performing in various community theater productions since 2015. In 2022, my husband Ben and I made Hyattsville’s Ward 5 our home, drawn to its vibrant and welcoming community. Since then, I’ve been actively involved, including serving on the Hyattsville Education Advisory Committee.

As an openly LGBTQ+ candidate, I know firsthand the importance of representation in government and the power of inclusive leadership. Our city thrives when all voices are heard, and I am committed to advocating for policies that support equity, diversity, and the well-being of all residents.

Living with Spina Bifida, a disability that affects my mobility and balance, has also shaped my deep understanding of the importance of accessibility and inclusion. Every resident deserves to feel empowered, connected, and heard. This campaign is about working together to make Hyattsville even stronger—more inclusive, accessible, and engaged. It would be an honor to bring this perspective to City Council and help our community thrive.”
