Nicholas Costilla

Nicholas Costilla is a community leader and public servant running to serve as Hays County Clerk. He has spent decades engaging with and supporting his community, volunteering at local events, serving on the Texas State University Alumni Association Board, and working alongside neighbors to strengthen civic life in Hays County. Having called Hays County home for over 36 years, Nicholas has deep roots in the community and a firsthand understanding of the people, traditions, and values that make it unique. He is committed to creating a Clerk’s office that is transparent, accessible, and inclusive, ensuring that all residents can efficiently access vital records, election services, and public documents. His priorities include modernizing office procedures, safeguarding residents’ privacy, and providing equitable services for everyone — particularly historically marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+ residents. Nicholas believes that local government works best when it serves every resident fairly and respectfully. He strives to build trust through accountability and action. By combining his experience, deep community knowledge, and commitment to service, Nicholas is running to ensure the Hays County Clerk’s office reflects the values of the community and provides a welcoming, fair, and transparent experience for all residents.
