Biography
Phil Kim is the President of the San Francisco Board of Education and currently serves as Deputy Director at the Agency for Human Rights for the City and County of San Francisco. A lifelong educator, Phil has worked as a teacher, instructional leader, and education policy professional focused on improving student outcomes and advancing educational opportunity. He has led STEM education initiatives and education policy efforts at the local, state, and national levels and previously served in the Office of the Superintendent at the San Francisco Unified School District, where he worked on District strategy and operational improvement. Phil holds degrees in neuroscience, education, and public policy and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at the University of California, Berkeley. His work focuses on strengthening public education systems so that every student has access to high-quality learning opportunities.
