Biography
Heather Quaas-Annsa is a dedicated community advocate, nonprofit leader, and current member of the Springfield Public School Board. With a passion for equity, education, and public service, she is committed to ensuring that every student has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Heather brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and community development to her role. As the Director of Community Supported Shelters, she oversees programs that provide critical services— including shelter, hygiene access, and resource navigation—to vulnerable adults in Lane County. Her expertise in strategic planning, coalition-building, and program management helps her drive meaningful change for students, families, and educators. Heather’s commitment to public education is deeply personal. As a Hispanic and Jewish woman, a survivor of domestic violence and housing instability, and a mother to neurodivergent, queer children, she understands firsthand the importance of inclusive, supportive school environments. She is a strong advocate for policies that promote equity, student success, and community engagement.
