Let's Elect Robert Hardingham to County Commission!
Biography
Robert “Robbie” Hardingham III is a lifelong Indian River County resident, U.S. Army veteran, and commercial truck driver running for County Commission District 2. Born and raised in Indian River County, Hardingham graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1994 and enlisted in the United States Army immediately after, serving as a Petroleum Supply Specialist before receiving an honorable discharge in 1996.
Hardingham has spent nearly three decades in the workforce, beginning as a lifeguard for the City of Vero Beach and a server at local restaurants before earning his Class A commercial driver’s license from the Truck Driver Institute of Florida in 1998. He spent over 15 years driving over the road for carriers including Covenant Transport, Interstate Distributors, Continental Express, Heartland Express, and US Express, logging millions of miles across the country. He also studied culinary arts and restaurant management at Indian River Community College and worked as a premises technician for AT&T U-verse in Vero Beach. In 2015, Hardingham transitioned from long-haul trucking to local Florida delivery routes, first with Ryder Logistics out of the CVS warehouse in Vero Beach and then with Penske Logistics, where he currently drives. He has lived and worked in Indian River County nearly his entire adult life.
Hardingham is running on a platform of affordable housing, veterans services, Indian River Lagoon preservation, government transparency, and addressing homelessness. He is the only Democrat in the District 2 race and will face the winner of the Republican primary on November 3, 2026. He lives in Vero Beach.
