Ross Widenor

Munroe Falls City Council, Ward 1

Ross will continue to bring important representation to Munroe Falls!

Biography

Ross grew up in a small town in southwest PA, and studied chemical engineering at Case Western Reserve University, where he met his husband, Anthony. After completing his master’s degree, he began his career at Bridgestone Americas in Akron, where he had interned as an undergrad. He and Anthony rented an apartment in Stow for a few years until they bought their forever home in Munroe Falls in 2017.

Upon moving to the city, he was appointed to the Park Board, which replaced his previous role as the Stow representative on the board of Akron Metro. He served as chair for three years, and led the memorial brick sale fundraiser for the Veteran’s Memorial maintenance and improvement project.

After 12 years at Bridgestone, supporting teams in Materials Science, Open Innovation, Strategic Planning, and Sustainability, Ross departed from corporate life and now works as an independent consultant with a passion for convening partners to find innovative ways to promote sustainability.

In his free time, you’ll find Ross at the gym, playing video games, strolling a trail through a park with Anthony, or playing board games with friends. He is also involved with his church, Christ Episcopal in Kent, where he sings in the choir and is a lector and eucharistic minister. He believes that, having been given so much in life, he has a duty to work to make life better for others, and strives to work with the rest of City Council to do just that!
