Biography
Illapa Sairitupac is the proud son of immigrants from Perú and a community organizer on the Lower East Side. I am a local tenant organizer and I help renters build tenant associations, pressure landlords into delivering the repairs they need, and activating folks into our housing movement. I am also an organizer with the This Land is Ours Community Land Trust, where we are fighting for community land trusts in Lower Manhattan. He received an MSW from NYU, was previously a mental healthcare worker and ran for NYS Assembly for district 65 in 2022. He has lived in the Lower East Side for 14 years.
