Scott will be an important voice for equality in the California State legislature!
Biography
Scott Houston knows the communities in Assembly District 66 like the back of his hand. Scott has served as a Board Member of West Basin Municipal Water District for more than 10 years tackling one of the most difficult issues in the state of California: water. He is a public relations professional with experience in the technology and manufacturing sectors, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed), where he has advocated for workforce development policies that lift working families into the middle class. He also serves on the Los Angeles County Commission for Older Adults where he is helping lead the county’s long-term planning for a rapidly aging population. Scott’s dedication to civic activism began with the fight for marriage equality in the face of Proposition 8 in 2008, and continued on the board of the South Bay LGBTQ Center. As a West Basin Board Member, Scott gave voice to, and fought for, the victims of workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying, and retaliation at the Metropolitan Water District. Scott lives in El Segundo with his partner, Adam, and attended Michigan Tech and UCLA.
