Skyler Korgel

Skyler Korgel is a progressive organizer, legislative strategist, and candidate for Travis Central Appraisal
District (TCAD) Board of Directors, Place 1. Serving as Legislative Director for State Representative Lulu
Flores, Skyler has dedicated his career to making Texas public policy more equitable, accessible, and
compassionate to communities across Texas. As President of Stonewall Democrats of Austin, Skyler
works to build LGBTQ+ political education, activation, and representation while working with community and local leaders to enact pro-equality policies throughout Austin and Central Texas.

A devoted Longhorn with a background spanning mechanical engineering, higher education policy
analysis, and campaign finance compliance, Skyler brings policy expertise, rigorous oversight, and
technical precision to public service. In 2024, he co-managed the historic Democratic slate that won
TCAD’s inaugural elected board seats. Skyler is committed to maintaining competent, ethical, and transparent leadership at TCAD. He will work with the Board to improve property appraisal precision, taxpayer engagement, and Appraisal Review Board member education. Crucially, Skyler will work to ensure corporate commercial property is appraised accurately so that mega-corporations are charged their due share of property taxes instead of shifting that tax burden onto working families, while protecting vital funding for our local governments and public schools.
