Biography
John Snow (he/him) is a proud gay Navy veteran and community advocate running for Marysville City Council – Position 1. After 13 years of service, including deployments across the globe, John was medically retired and returned home to focus on public service at the local level. His campaign is grounded in transparency, inclusion, and responsible growth — with a focus on affordable housing, public safety reform, and environmental sustainability.
John has been a consistent voice for working families, LGBTQ+ rights, and government accountability in Snohomish County. As someone who knows what it’s like to serve under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and to build a life after military service with a disability, he brings lived experience, empathy, and resilience to the table. If elected, John would be the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to city government in Marysville.
He is running to make sure every resident feels seen, safe, and heard — and to help build a city that works for everyone, not just a few.
