Biography
Dr. DJ Torres (he/him) is a Denver Public Schools parent, educator, and equity leader running for the Denver Board of Education, District 3. A former teacher, DPS central office leader, and Deputy Chief Equity Officer for the City and County of Denver, he has spent his career building more inclusive, equitable systems for students and families. DJ and his husband are proud to be a two-dad family raising their son in Denver Public Schools.
He previously served as Equity Chair on the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains Board and is endorsed by educators, labor, and equality advocates across Denver. If elected, DJ will be the first out queer person and the first special educator ever to serve on the Denver Board of Education.
