Biography
Aime Wichtendahl is the first openly trans woman elected to government in the state of Iowa, serving as a member of the Hiawatha City Council. First elected in 2015, her goal as been to improve the lives of Hiawatha’s residents – building new infrastructure such as the expansion of the public library, fire station, and public park, while reducing property taxes and focusing on small businesses.
