Rep. Jared Polis will advance to the general election in November. Polis ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination to represent Colorado’s 2nd district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Polis has served in Congress since 2009. In 2012, he ran unopposed in his primary to go on in the general to defeat Randy Luallin, Kevin Lundberg, and Susan Hall in the general election. He has served as one of seven openly LGBT members of the 113th Congress, and caucuses in the LGBT Equality Caucus. He is also the only openly LGBT parent in Congress. Polis resides with his partner, Marlon Reis, and their son in Boulder, Colorado.
