Washington, DC – Today LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ+ leaders to public office, endorsed Angie Craig, Sharice Davids, Chris Pappas and Eric Sorensen for Congress. There are currently just ten out LGBTQ+ members of the U.S. House. The U.S. must elect 21 more LGBTQ+ U.S. representatives for equitable representation, according to LGBTQ+ Victory Institute.
Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, issued the following statement:
“Angie, Sharice, Chris and Eric are critical to restoring a pro-choice, pro-equality majority in Congress. From safeguarding Social Security and veterans’ health care to fighting national bans on abortion and gender-affirming care, they are experienced lawmakers with proven track records of delivering meaningful results for their constituents. They are also powerful national voices for the countless LGBTQ+ Americans looking to our elected leaders to stand up and fight the current wave of anti-LGBTQ hate sweeping our nation, including within the halls of Congress.”
