Victory Fund has endorsed 69 candidates for 22 races so far
Washington, DC – Today LGBTQ Victory Fund – the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office – endorsed 11 more state and local LGBTQ candidates for the 2022 election cycle. Victory Fund previously endorsed Mayor Robert Garcia for the U.S. Congress last Friday. Among today’s endorsements are John Fredrickson, running for a seat in the Nebraska Legislature, and Hawaii Democratic Party Chair Tyler Dos Santos-Tam, running for the Honolulu City Council. Fredrickson would join previously endorsed candidate James Michael Bowers in becoming the first two out gay men elected to the Nebraska Legislature and Santos-Tam would become one of just two out LGBTQ elected officials serving in all of Hawaii.
Victory Fund has now endorsed 69 candidates for 2022.
Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund, released the following statement about the new endorsements:
“The 2022 election cycle presents enormous opportunities for our community, including the potential to dramatically increase the number of LGBTQ state legislators and electing LGBTQ leaders in states where there are few. These LGBTQ candidates are essential to defeating the wave of anti-LGBTQ legislation we see across the country and to pushing forward policies that are inclusive of our community. We are investing early in these races because that is when we can make the greatest difference – and winning in 2022 is more important than ever.”
